New Delhi: Every year we see many talents coming out to showcase the new generation of creativity and art. But as we get many who will be baton for next few years, we lose some who were our guides and mentor during this journey.

There have been many deaths this year in Entertainment industry. Many talented artists, notable singers, great actors and filmmakers left this mortal world. Some of these people were still very young and left us in grief with their sudden demise.

Here we look back in the year and remember these icons who left us to mourn them.

Robin Williams

The actor who won an Oscar for his performance as Dr. Sean Maguire in ‘Good Will Hunting' was the biggest loss for us this year. He started his career as a stand up comedian but forayed into acting with his debut film ‘Popeye.'

Robin Williams appeared in films like ‘Good Morning Vietnam,' ‘Dead Poets Society' and Awakenings that were highly appreciated by critics. His commercially successful films include ‘Hook' and ‘Mrs. Doubtfire'

The actor took his own life on August 11 this year depriving us of his jokes and films.

 

Philip Seymour Hoffman
The prolific actor was considered one of the best among his generation. The actor won an Academy Award for portraying the author Truman Capote in the film ‘Capote.' Hoffman received three other Oscar nominations for his acting in films ‘Charlie Wilson's War,' ‘Doubt' and ‘The Master.'  

The actor died of combined drug intoxication in February 2014 and left us in shock and grief. At the time of his death he was in the middle of filming of ‘Hunger Games: The Mockingjay Part 1' but had completed majority of his scenes. The other remaining scenes will be shot with help of Computer Generated Imagery.

Richard Attenborough
One of the best film minds of the 20th century, Attenborough is most famous for his Academy Award winning film ‘Gandhi.' He won two awards, Best Picture and Best Director for ‘Gandhi.' The film won 8 Oscars at 55th Academy Awards.  

Richard Attenborough was also a very good actor, most famous for his role of John Hammond in the film ‘Jurassic Park.' His other notable works include ‘Brighton Rock,' ‘The Great Escape,' ‘10 Rillington Place,' and ‘Miracle on 34th Street.'

The British actor, director and producer died of natural causes on August 24 this year just five days before his 91st birthday.

Eli Wallach
Eli Wallach's career spanned more than 6 decades starting from late 1940s. The actor is most famous for playing Tuco in 1966 film ‘The good the bad and the ugly.'

His other notable works include ‘The Magnificent Seven,' ‘The Misfits,' ‘Godfather Part 3' and ‘The Two Jakes.' Wallach received BAFTA Awards, Tony Awards, Emmy Awards and one Honorary Academy Award for his contribution to the cinema in his long career.  He died on June 24 of natural causes at the age of 98.

Peaches Geldof
Sometimes some few young promising talents leave this world in the middle of their journey. Peaches Geldof was such one person. The gorgeous lady was only 25 years old when she departed from this mortal world.  

Daughter of the famous Irish musician Bob Geldof, Peaches was a journalist, a TV presenter and a model.

The young woman died on April 7 and the cause of her death was diagnosed as heroine overdose.

James Rebhorn
The American actor James Rebhorn appeared in more than hundred films in his career. His most famous roles are in the films ‘White Squall,' ‘8 Second, ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley,' and in ‘Independence Day.' the actor also appeared regularly on TV series ‘Homeland' and ‘White Collar.'

Rebhorn died on March 21 of melanoma. At the time of his death he was 65 years old.
