Jaipur, Oct 22: After their big fat Indian wedding, popstar Katy Perry and British actor Russell Brand will let their hair down in a 'East meets West' themed reception which will see performances by rap mogul P Diddy and Indian classical dancers.
The A-list couple will tie the knot in a Hindu ceremony at the luxurious Aman-i-Khas resort in Ranthambore and the gala reception will take place on Sunday at the Rambagh Palace hotel in Jaipur, according to sources.
Another highlight of the event will be a special performance by celebrated choreographer Sandip Soparrkar and his supermodel wife Jesse Randhawa.
"Sandip and Jesse had performed at Madonna's birthday and everyone loved it. So there will be a special performance by them. The piece will combine Kathak and Bharatnatyam with Tango and Paso doble," said the source.
The couple's nuptials will have all the elements of a big fat Indian wedding, band, 'baraat' (wedding procession) and fireworks.
Perry, 25, got engaged to the 'Arthur' star in Jaipur over New Year's eve and decided to tie the knot Indian style.
The bride and groom will don Indian finery for their big day and Perry was photographed at the airport wearing a traditional Indian 'nath' (nosepin).
The British comedian will ride a bedecked horse, escorted by a procession of elephants and dancers.
"The procession will start at the gate of the hotel, with the bridegroom sitting on a beautifully decorated horse that is escorted by camels and elephants.
"Folk dancers then welcome the couple with a traditional routine, fireworks and a special buggi (horse-driven cart) ushering them into the main garden for the wedding," said the source.
After getting married in India, the couple will still need to have a civil ceremony in the US for their union to be recognised there.
The guests includes the who's who of Hollywood, including Perry's best friend, pop princess Rihanna. PTI
