New Delhi: Hollywood power couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, are reportedly planning to make one more addition to their family. The couple have begun the process to adopt an orphaned Syrian boy, who will be their seventh child.

In her role as Special Envoy of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Jolie has travelled widely to many conflict zones around the world. She was inspired to work for the cause of refugees after getting a first-hand view of the aftermath of a humanitarian crisis when she was filming for Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in Cambodia in 2001. Jolie adopted her first child from Cambodia the following year.

During a trip to Syria, she met three young brothers. According to the website Radar Online, "Angelina was heartbroken to learn the three of them had seen their father taken away by Syrian soldiers, and their home was also bombed, and they lost their mother in the bombing."

She wanted to adopt all three but soon realised that it would be impractical after talking it over with her husband. "Going from six children to nine was just way too much, and Brad was concerned about how it would impact their other kids. But Angie didn't put up a fight. She knew it just wouldn't work," said a source.

Red tape, however, will keep the child from arriving in the US for another 4-5 months, the source added.

The couple currently have three biological children, Shiloh, 9, and seven-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox as well as three adopted children, Maddox, 14, adopted from Cambodia, Pax, 11, from Vietnam and 10-year-old Zahara from Ethiopia.

Jolie and Pitt only got married last November but have been together since 2005 when they fell in love during the filming of Mr & Mrs Smith. They will be romancing each other again in the film By the Sea, directed by Jolie and releasing later this year.
