The 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards hosted by Stephen Colbert was attended by many renowned personalities. HBO received 46 nominations in different categories which was followed by FX and Netflix with 27 nominations each. The award night belonged to Big Little Lies and The Handmaid's Tale as some of the prestigious awards were won by these shows.

Celebrities put their stylish foot forward and made the evening even more beautiful. Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra was looking sizzling at the red carpet event. 

Here are the highlights from the ceremony.

8:32 am IST- Best drama series: The Handmaid's Tale.

The show has won some prestigious awards at the event. This was a big day for the team.

8:27 am IST- Lead actress in a drama series: Elisabeth Moss for The Handmaid's Tale. The lady delievered wonderful performance on the show which was based on1985 novel of the same title.

8.23 am IST- Lead Actor in drama series: Sterling K Brown for This is Us. The show was a big hit.

8:16 am IST​- Best Limited Series: Big Little Lies

Along with winning awards for Best Director and Best Supporting Actress, Big Little Lies again dominated the winners list by winning the award for Best Limited Series.

8:13 am IST: Award for Best Television Movie: Black Mirror

8:10 am IST- Lead actress in a limited series or movie: Nicole Kidman for Big Little Lies. This was her first Emmy Award.The lady played the role of a victim of abuse on the show. While accepting the award, she the actress spoke about domestic violence.

8:05 am IST: Lead actor in a limited series or movie: Riz Ahmed for The Night Of

In the HBO's series, the actor played the role of a falsely accused Pakistani immigrant.

8:00 am IST- Best Comedy series: Veep

7:54 am IST- Lead actress in a comedy series: Julia Louis-Dreyfus for Veep

7:50 am IST- Lead actor in a comedy series: Donald Glover for Atlanta

7:46 am IST- Variety talk series: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. The show on its second award. Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra presented the award.

Directing for a variety series: Don Roy King for Saturday Night Live

7:30 am IST: Writing for a Limited Series, Movie or Drama: Charlie Brooker wins for Black Mirror

7:24 am IST- Directing for a drama series: Reed Morano wins for The Handmaid's Tale. She has become the first lady in 22 years to win an award for directing a drama series.

7:20 am IST- Reality competition program: The Voice

7:11 am ISI- Writing for a comedy series: Aziz Ansari and Lena Waithe for Master of None. 

After Archie Panjabi in 2010, Aziz is the second Indian origin, who won Emmy.

6:52 am IST- Last Week Tonight with John Oliver wins Best Writing Award for Variety Series.

Ann Dowd wins the award for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series for The Handmaid’s Tale.

6:45 am IST- Alexander Skarsgård wins award for Big Little Lies.

6:38 am IST- Jean-Marc Vallee wins award for helming Big Little Lies.

6:35 am IST- Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series: Alec Baldwin.

The actor won the award for the portrayal of US president Donald Trump.

6:16 am IST- NBC institution, Saturday Night Livebags Award for Best Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.

6:07 am IST- Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie: Laura Dern for Big Little Lies

6:03 am IST: Kate McKinnon wins award for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series

5:51 am IST- Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: John Lithgow for The Crown.
