Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan was all set to make her Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor's Simmba but unfortunately, the project got mired in a legal tussle. But Sara has no worries as the newbie already has a masala entertainer in her kitty.
Sara is the lead actress of Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh's Simmba, which is one of the most awaited movies of 2018. Many thought that Karan Johar might have rooted for Sara but they are wrong. Rohit, in a recent interview, revealed the reason behind choosing Sara as the female lead for his film. The Golmaal Again director said that it was Sara who approached him for work saying that she wants to do a film with him. ''When I met Sara for the first time, I realized she is a hardcore commercial heroine. She is made for masala films. I thought she'd be perfect for Simmba. She'll match Ranveer's craziness,'' he told Mid-Day.
Talking about getting Ranveer Singh on board, Rohit said that the script is best suited for the Padmaavat actor. ''It is an out-and-out action masala entertainer, a kind that he hasn't attempted before. We will include amazing action sequences, and given the kind of energy and enthusiasm that Ranveer has, I'm sure he'll do justice to the part,'' he said.
Produced by Dharma Productions and Rohit Shetty Picturez, Simmba is slated to hit theatres on December 28 this year.
