Newlyweds Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have been busy ever since their marriage. After having an intimate wedding ceremony at Lake Como, Italy, the couple hosted wedding receptions for their friends and family. Post all the wedding festivities, Deepika and Ranveer got busy with their professional commitments. While Ranveer started promoting Rohit Shetty's film Simmba, Deepika got busy with her next project, Chhapaak, directed by Meghna Gulzar.
Now as Simmba has released and there is time left to begin the shooting for Chhapaak, the power couple decided to ring in their New Year in New York. Last night, Deepika and Ranveer were spotted together leaving for their first vacay after marriage, The couple was looking sassy in all-black attire. The completed their look with black leather shoes and sunglasses. Deepika was all smiles as paps captured her in their cameras. Check out pictures below:
On a related note, Ranveer Singh's Simmba roared at the box office as it made an opening of over Rs 20 crore. The exaggerated cop drama co-starring Sara Ali Khan is a masala entertainer with a social message. Meanwhile, Deepika recently moonwalked into 30 million followers on Instagram. Yes, you read that right. The actress has now 30 million followers on the social networking site. She couldn't be happier!
On the work front, Deepika Padukone will next feature with Vikrant Massey in Chhapaak, which is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. DP will also be venturing into production with this film. While talking to Mumbai Mirror earlier, director Meghna Gulzar had said “The cast is slowly coming together. Vikrant is somebody I’ve wanted to work with since Raazi, after seeing him in A Death in the Gunj. In the film, he plays a North Indian boy who used to be a professional before he decided to become an actor, then, started a campaign against acid violence which is how he came to meet Laxmi in real life. I speak for both Deepika and myself when I say that we are both really excited to have Vikrant play this part.”
