Karan Johar's Takht is one of the much-awaited Bollywood releases of the next year. The period drama which is a multi-starrer stars Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Jahnvi Kapoor in important roles. The movie which was scheduled to hit the screens at the beginning of 2020 has now been pushed towards the end of the next year. Reports say that the film has been postponed due to delay in its first shoot schedule.

As per reports, the pre-production time of the magnum opus is taking longer than expected and will take next few months to get completed. ''Given that the film will be an opulent visual masterpiece and is also a period flick set against a Moghul backdrop the pre-production has taken longer than expected. This stage which was supposed to be completed a while back is far from over and will take the next few months as well. Keeping this in mind the first schedule which was expected to commence between June-July has now been pushed till the end of the year,'' a source told Bollywood Hungama.

Now as the commencement of the shooting has been pushed to the beginning of 2020, hence, Takht will now release during Diwali 2020. ''Since earlier the shoot of Takht was expected to commence in mid-2019, Karan was looking at releasing the film in the beginning of 2020. However, now, with this delay, the release of the film has been pushed to Diwali 2020, which is in November,'' the source further added.

Karan Johar turned a year older on Saturday and several Bollywood celebrities took to Instagram to wish their favourite person of B-town. From Alia Bhatt to Ekta Kapoor, celebrities took to social media to wish KJo. However, this time too, Karan didn't throw a party and decided to ring in his birthday in quite an intimate way.
