Bollywood lyricist and screenwriter Jalees Sherwani passed away after suffering from a few health complications for the past two weeks. Though the latest reports suggest that he passed away due to a massive heart attack on Wednesday. He is known for writing lyrics for several films such as Dabang, Chashme Badoor, Tiger Zinda Hai and Wanted.
Sherwani, who has written lyrics and dialogues for most of Salman Khan's films passed away today due to a heart attack as reported.
Jalees Sherwani had written the dialogues and lyrics for several Bollywood movies for superstar Salman Khan. Some of his recent Salman Khan films that were blockbusters include Yash Raj Films' Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), Arbaaz Khan's Dabangg (2010) and Boney Kapoor's Wanted (2009). His other important films include Baaghi, Sangram and Loafer among others.
Tributes poured in from the film fraternity for Jalees Sherwani. May his soul rest in peace.
“Sad to know about the demise of one of our veteran writers #JaleesSherwani ji. May his family gain the strength to bear with this huge loss. We will miss U. #RIP”, wrote Ashoke Pandit.
The announcement of Jalees Sherwani's death was made at the ongoing 5th Indian Screenwriters Conference (ISC) held in Mumbai's St. Andrews Auditorium. A bigger tribute will be paid to the screenwriter at the conference on Thursday. Jalees Sherwani had also served as the president of the Film Writers Association (FWA) for many years.
