Anil Kapoor on Mr India sequel: Sridevi is irreplaceable, won’t make it for the heck of it

Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, who will be seen next in Total Dhamaal opposite Madhuri Dixit, had announced the sequel to his popular film Mr India in 2012. However, the sequel to the superhit 1987 film may not see the day of light anytime soon as Anil Kapoor revealed that they haven’t cracked a story yet as Sridevi is irreplaceable.

"We haven't cracked a story yet. I'm a part of several franchises but I'm not making a sequel for the heck of it, ditto for Boney Kapoor (the producer of Mr India. Also, both Sridevi and Amrish ji (late actor Amrish Puri) are irreplaceable”, Anil Kapoor was quoted as saying to Mumbai Mirror.

In an earlier interview, Anil Kapoor opened up on Sridevi just before her first death anniversary and said, “She was my brother's wife and my wife's friend as they connected really well. Whenever we met there was always fun, laughter and humour. People like Sri ji are difficult to forget. Her body of work is fabulous and inspiring. Her films are still being seen and pictures still being published everywhere. She will always be missed''.

Sridevi left us a year ago, but her fans and family are yet to come to terms with this big loss. It was on February 24, 2018 that the sudden death of Sridevi shocked the nation. India's first female superstar breathed her last in Dubai where she was attending a family wedding.

On the work front, Anil Kapoor is all set to tickle our funnybones in Total Dhamaal, also starring Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi and others on February 22.
