Amritsar Train Accident: Alia Bhatt, Swara Bhasker and other celebs express grief on unfortunate tragedy during Dussehra celebration

While expressing the grief and paying condolences, many Bollywood figures wrote on the micro-blogging website.

Bollywood celebrities Alia Bhatt, Farhan Akhtar and Anil Kapoor led Bollywood in condoling the death of over 60 people in Amritsar train accident.

Telling our audience about the unfortunate incident that took place in the holy city of Amrtisar, a large number of people were watching a huge Ravan effigy in flames while standing on the tracks at a railway crossing at Jora Phatak when the train on way from Pathankot to Amritsar mowed them down. Many families are affected by this accident and the entire city is triggering with anger and outrage. As per the official reports, over 60 people died and 72 got injured. While expressing the grief and paying condolences, many Bollywood figures wrote on the micro-blogging website.

From actors including Farhan Akhtar, Diljit Dosanjh, and Diana Penty to celebrated cricketer like Harbhajan took to their Twitter handles expressing their feelings.

Actor-cum-Singer Farhan Akhtar wrote, "Saddened to hear about the loss of life in #Amritsar. Safety in public spaces HAS TO be taken a lot more seriously. Deepest condolences to all families affected by this tragedy."

Swara Bhasker wrote, "Thoughts and prayers for the victims of the tragedy in #Amritsar and for their families.. this is SO tragic!!!! Devastating news on a festive day. #AmritsarTrainAccident Strength to and prayers for all the affected!"

Alia Bhatt: The #AmritsarTrainAccident is heartbreaking! Terrible terrible thing to have happened..This is just another example our extremely poor attitude towards caution and safety.. Prayers for all those suffering 

While Soorma movie actor, Diljit Dosanjh wrote, "Deeply Hurt and saddened by the terrible train tragedy in Amritsar. Its heart-wrenching. My deepest condolences to the families of victims. My prayers with the affected ones for quick recovery."

Female actor Diana Penty also expressed her grief saying, "Absolutely shocked at hearing the news of the #trainaccident in #Amritsar. I just cannot fathom how something like this could have happened. My deepest condolences to all the families that have lost their loved ones. Love and prayers."

While Bollywood actors penning down their feelings on Twitter, Punjabi actor Gippy Grewal too posted, "Extremely saddened by the train accident in Amritsar. My deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones and I pray that the injured recover quickly. Waheguru ji Mehar kario"

Celebrated cricketer Harbhajan also took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "Deeply saddened by the unfortunate train incident that occurred in #Amritsar. It's unfortunate what the people went through. My heart goes out to the families and friends who lost their loved ones."
