Mumbai: Superstar Salman Khan has expressed grief and sorrow over the manhandling of  Pakistani journalist Chand Nawab.

According to Pakistan's Channel 92, Salman Khan expressed grief and sorrow over the torture of Chand Nawab. Producer of super hit movie Bajrangi Bhaijan  Kabir Khan also condemned the incident,.

Reports also said that the superstar Salman has personally contacted Nawab and expressed his deep anguish over the incident.

 "He  was there to uncover the corruption at railway station and while he was covering scalping of train tickets railway officials and police allegedly beaten him up and his team members including driver and engineers,"the report said.

Reacting to the incident, Pakistan's Channel 92 said that Sindh minister Nisar Khuhro has taken notice of the incident and ordered inquiry into it.

Chand Nawab shot to fame after his piece to camera video went viral to such an extent that it  prompted filmmaker Kabir Khan to add a character in the blockbuster Bollywood flick ‘Bajrangi Bhaijan' based on him. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui played a journalist of the same name in film.

Ironically, it was the same railway station where he shot the famous video for sending out a piece to camera (PTC) about people boarding trains during Eid in the year 2008.
