New Delhi: It was a super Sunday for Aamir Khan's PK at box office, which earned Rs 38.24 cr taking the weekend collection to Rs 95.21 cr in India.

"PK collected record Rs 38.24 cr on Sunday which is 30 per cent growth from Saturday, taking the film's total weekend net collection to Rs 95.21 crore," said a statement from the film's producer to PTI

This is the best Sunday figure for any Bollywood flick leaving behind Aamir Khan's very own Dhoom 3, which made Rs 37.75 cr nett on its first Sunday. As the days have progressed, there is a continuous growth in its collection, particularly if we look at the Saturday's figures; it shows an increase of 15 per cent from its opening day.

The spectacular reviews and positive word of mouth are working in favour for this Rajkumar Hirani directorial.

It shouldn't be disappointing for the movie, not making into the 100 cr club like other movies - Happy New Year, Dhoom 3 and Chennai Express did during thier first weekends. Leaving Dhoom 3 alone, Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year and Chennai Express had Diwali and Eid holidays to consolidate a big numbers at box office by its first weekend.

So, Happy New Year rules the charts with its weekend collection of Rs 108 cr while Dhoom 3 and Chennai Express are second and third in the race with Rs 107.61 cr and 100.42 cr nett collections.

PK takes the fourth spot while Kick starring Salman Khan and Singham Returns starring Ajay Devgn are at fifth and sixth position with their weekend collection of Rs 83.3 cr and Rs 77.64 cr respectively.

PK which also stars Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani and Saurabh Shukla has already entered into the top ten biggest grossers' list of the year , which is ruled by Kick with its lifetime collection of Rs 233 cr nett.

The movie will easily make into the Rs 100 cr club by today with an expected collection of around Rs 20 cr. Since it's a busy working day and as the days progress, a slight fall in its collection is expected. However, Thursday should once again see a good jump considering Christmas holiday.

Here are the three days figures of PK-

Fri cr 26.63 cr, Sat 30.40 cr, Sun 38.24 cr- Total Rs 95.21 cr.
