New Delhi: It's celebration time for Deepika Padukone and SRK's fans, who will soon be seeing them again in Farah Khan' directorial venture Happy New Year.
A few days back, reports of Katrina Kaif being signed opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Happy New Year was doing the rounds. But, now it's being said that no one else but Deepika Padukone has been finalised as the lead actress in Farah Khan's film and here comes the confirmed news from Bollywood's ace designer Manish Malhotra, who is working on the costumes for HNY.
Designer Manish Malhotra tweeted, “Long exhausting day : LFW work/meetings with@punitdmalhotra and@TheFarahKhan for their movies”. Later he added, “Then filmcity to meet@deepikapadukone for her look for@TheFarahKhan HAPPY NEW YEAR.”
There were a series of speculations regarding the heroine of Happy New Year. While the names like Katrina, Deepika, Sonakshi and even Ankita Lokhande kept popping up every now and then, Aishwarya Rai was apparently also approached for the role.
After the monstrous success of Chennai Express, Farah Khan was left in absolutely no doubt to cast Deepika, who seems to be riding high on the success meter as Chennai Express is breaking all records.
The leggy lass also shares a very special bond with both Farah and Shah Rukh, having done her debut with them.
Happy New Year will mark the coming together of the friends-turned-foe-turned-friends again, Farah and SRK after 6 long years.
