New Delhi: Bombay Velvet is one of the most ambitious projects of director Anurag Kashyap not only because it has an unlikely bigger star cast but it also involves one of the mammoth investments of around Rs 100, which too is quite rare considering the economic budgeted movies the director is known for making in past. With this there is bigger responsibility and so there is a bigger risk too.

Now on top of that, what are giving director sleepless nights is the length of the movie, which even after many attempts is restricted to 4 hours. If a leading daily is to be believed then, a fresh team is deployed to cut short this four hours drama. And most probably the three of the four songs featuring Anushka and Raveena will be edited or for better results would be entirely removed from the flick. Alongside Anurag Kashyap, producer Fox Star and Vikas Bahl have collectively taken this decision to chop down few other scenes.

The movie also has promotional song by Vikas Bahl, which however may not be the part of the flick.

In a reply to a mail sent by a leading daily, director Anurag Kashyap who seems be miffed with the reports said, “Do you even have a clue of the process of filmmaking… Or generally the papers hire dumb people that can be easily manipulated…The film is locked and edited... Vikas Bahl shot a promotional song which is not in the film... Production house is my production house, they don't take decisions independent of me. Don't become easy prey to rumour mongers... I am exhausted of you people... Use your brains if there are any to question it yourself.. And read what you ask yourself.. Idiots [sic]."

Bombay Velvet has been a reason for couple of controversies in the past. Earlier it was for its delay in release due to reasons best known to the makers of the movie while at other occasions it was for the confusion over Raveena Tandon's role in the movie.

Slated to release in May, Bombay Velvet also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar and Kay Kay Menon in lead roles.
