Mumbai : It was a poignant occasion as participants in the Indian Idol music reality show on Sony TV sang 'Zindagi ka safar, hai yeh kaisa safar' with a huge backdrop of Rajesh Khanna. Tears welled into Asha Bhosle's eyes sitting in the judge's chair.
As yesteryears' actor Jeetendra lauded Rajesh Khanna's roles in Bollywood, the participants assembled to render evergreen songs from Rajesh Khanna's films.
Later, addressing the participants, Asha Bhosle, wiping off tears from her eyes said: "I am here today at a time when Pancham ( RD Burman), Kishore da (Kishore Kumar) and Rajeshji are not here. I sang so many songs for them.
"Those were the days when we all used to sit together and compose tunes for the songs. Pancham used to sit with his musical instrument, Shaktida used to be there, Anand Bakshi was there, and of course, Rajeshji, was there.
"I remember each and every one of them. None of them are present among us here today", said the legendary singer.
