New Delhi: An FIR has been registered against 14 persons including Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh by the Pune police for allegedly using obscene and abusive language during the comedy show- AIB Roast. Bollywood's Sonakshi Sinha, Deepika Padukone and the comedians of the AIB group have also been named in the FIR.

Deepika and Sonakshi were present among the audience and were not part of the show.

The complaint was filed by a CID inspector under sections 292 (Distribution of obscene content or lascivious or appeals to the prurient interest), Section 294 (Obscene Act in public place) of the Indian Penal Code and section 67a of IT Act (Publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act, etc. in electronic form).

Earlier in the week, two police complaints were filed against the event in Mumbai, alleging the use of obscene language and for hurting religious sentiments.

The edited video that was uploaded on Youtube was taken down by AIB on Tuesday. The AIB Roast was first of its kind event in India where film stars Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor were subjected to jokes about their personal and professional lives.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and cultural minister Vinod Tawde have said that the action would be taken against the organizers and actors if they had violated any law.
