Actor Shahid Kapoor has broken his silence on reports of his tiff with Ranveer Singh saying he never had any issues with the actor regarding their upcoming movie ‘Padmavati’. Shahid further asserted that he is rather excited to work with Singh in the periodical drama.
Apparently, it was believed that the two actors are having ego clashes regarding their roles in ‘Padmavati’ and that Shahid is upset with Ranveer’s attempt to sideline him in the movie.
However, Sasha vehemently quashed the reports and that he is neither upset with Ranveer and nor had any insecurities about his role.
“I can’t really comment on what somebody else is feeling or going through. I am sure he will clarify for himself”, Shahid told a leading daily.
In fact, the ‘Udta Punjab’ actor also lauded Singh and said that he has always been fond of Ranveer’s work especially in ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Sasha also emphasised that Ranveer is the best choice for the role of Allaudiin Khilji in ‘Padmavati’.
Talking about his off-screen chemistry with the ‘Befikre’ actor, Shahid asserted that the two actors share a good rapport and often chill out together. He even recalled the moment when Ranveer bagged his debut award at an event hosted by Shahid himself.
“I remember he was crying and it was a special moment for him. So I have kind-of seen him grow in the last six years”, Shahid added.
Besides Ranveer, Shahid will also be working with Deepika Padukone in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus and the actor is ecstatic about it. Sasha will be essaying the role of Padmavati’s husband Rana Rawal Ratan Singh. The actor was all praises for DP saying that the ‘Piku’ actress has upped her game over the time and is at her best at this moment.
“She’s probably doing better work than many today. So that’s awesome. It’s great that we are working together in a film like ‘Padmavati’”, Shahid was quoted as saying.
Sharing his excitement on working for Bhansali’s periodical drama, Shahid averred that it is a special movie with an amazing cast and he is thrilled to be a part of it.
While Deepika and Ranveer have begun shooting ‘Padmavati’ early this month, Sasha will be joining them next week.
Speaking about his future ventures, Shahid revealed that he hasn’t signed any other movie post ‘Padmavati’ and is focussing on it completely.
‘Padmavati’ is touted to hit the screens in December 2017.
