The upbeat and quirky Bollywood Ranveer Singh is always full of surprises and fun. The actor, who has started prepping for Zoya Akhtar’s next Gully Boy opposite Alia Bhatt, attended one of the workshops where he got engaged in a rap battle and won our hearts. The actor will be teaming up with Zoya for the second time after Dil Dharana Do. Gully Boy is inspired by the lives of two rappers Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy. Ranveer has been taking rapping lessons from Divine to prepare for his role in the film.
The Padmavati actor is believed to have visited the place with his director Zoya. Videos and pictures from the rap session see the actor personally introducing himself to the bunch of young men and getting into the rhythm and flow of words by rapping along to a song.
Talking about Ranveer, Divine had said, "He's a cool guy and already dresses like a rapper so he needs no tips in the fashion department from me. It is one thing to get audiences to wake up and listen to our kind of music, which is not about girls, gold, and drugs but about real life in Mumbai. But it is an even greater thing when mainstream actors like Ranveer chose to beaGully Boy. He's now a part of our movement."
Gully Boy brings to the screen the fresh pair Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh for the first time on big screen. Although they have starred in several ads, this is the first time they will be seen in a movie together. This film also marks the reunion of Ranveer with Zoya Akhtar after Dil Dhadakne Do. Gully Boy is slated to go on floors in January.
