New Delhi: The murder of Pakistan model and internet sensation Qandeel Baloch has brought back the topic of ‘honour killing’ in public discussion forum. She was strangulated to death by her own brother for ‘dishonouring’ the family reputation.
The sensational murder has left most of the poeple in sub-continent shocked. However, there were some who are praising her brother for the massive step while there were many who believed that the menace of ‘honour killing’ existed only in Pakistan.
Bollywood actress Richa Chaddha happened to have an encounter with a person of the thought that killing in the name of honour has nothing to do with India.
She had a Twitter war over the topic and you need to take notice as the actress made a valid point.
It started when she posted something important in the wake of incident.
As foetuses girls die at the hands of fathers, for honour they die at the hands of brothers,as wives they die for dowry #QandeelBaloch— TheRichaChadha (@RichaChadha) July 16, 2016
Basically, women in the subcontinent must know that their families love them much less than they love their 'honour'.Our lives are not ours— TheRichaChadha (@RichaChadha) July 16, 2016
This is when a person shouted at her for comparing India and Pakistan.
Then it lead to a serious war of words between the two. Take a look.
whats the source of these numbers? The subcontinent faces the problem of 'Honour killings'. Happens here as well. We must stop it.— TheRichaChadha (@RichaChadha) July 16, 2016
