Ranveer Singh is riding on success after his recent film Padmaavat became a massive hit at box office. It is being said to be Ranveer’s highest grossing film so far. In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, he has played the role of Alauddin Khilji. He received rave reviews for his performance in Padmaavat. But surprising fact is that, lead actress Deepika Padukone was paid more than Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. She confirmed the reports in a talk show hosted by Neha Dhupia.

Considering that Padmaavat has smoothly entered the 200-crore club within two weeks, Ranveer Singh became the youngest actor in Bollywood to deliver such a massive hit. It was safe to assume that the actor will hike his fee post Padmaavat success. According to Deccan Chronicle reports, Ranveer Singh has hiked his fee to Rs 13 crore, matching his girlfriend Deepika Padukone’s fee for a film.

A trade source told a leading daily, “Hikes are the order of the day when you deliver a box office hit. Ranveer will command this price now. Had this film released all over India, his asking price would have been bigger too. As for Deepika, she charged the price since she allotted lot more days for the film, as compared to a movie that otherwise takes only 60 days of shoot. Her price for other films as Rs 13 crore now after Padmaavat stands vindicated too.”

On the work front, Deepika Padukone will be featuring in Vishal Bhardwaj’s yet-to-be-titled film alongside Irrfan Khan. Ranveer Singh will be appearing in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy in which he’s playing a rapper. He will also be seen in Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar’s joint venture Simmba.
