Madhuri Dixit is not a part of Shiddat

Madhuri Dixit stepped into the shoes of Sridevi for Abhishek Varman's next and this was announced by Janhvi Kapoor. She took to Instagram to post a picture of both the divas with a caption, ''Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart ...Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film...''

Soon after many media reports stated that Madhuri has joined the cast of Shiddat, a film set in the era of 1940s. However, hours after the announcement, producer Karan Johar issued a clarification stating that Madhuri will be doing Abhishek Varman's film but the title is not Shiddat. He took to micro-blogging site Twitter to write, ''Some clarifications!!! Yes...we are honoured and humbled to have @MadhuriDixit on board for @abhivarman ‘s next! NO the film is NOT titled SHIDHAT! Yes the film will Commence shoot in mid April! The films final cast and credits will be announced soon!''

The film was supposed to mark the reunion of Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt after 25 years. Unfortunately, this couldn't happen. Sridevi passed away last month in Dubai due to accidental drowning in a bathtub.

Meanwhile, her daughter Janhvi is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Dharma Productions' Dhadak, co-starring Ishaan Khatter. Dhadak is an official Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat.
