Actor Rajendra Kumar was one of the talented actors of the Hindi cinema. The actor was fondly called as Jubilee Kumar because of the series of his successful films at the box office. He started his acting career in 1950 and then appeared on more than 80 films. Rajendra Kumar made his debut with a small role in Jogan that featured actors Dilip Kumar and Nargis. Producer Devendra Goel noticed his acting calibre and gave him a break in 1955 film Vachan. The film became the actor’s first silver jubilee.
The time between 1959 and 1966 saw Rajendra Kumar’s rise to stardom. Every film he touched became a box office hit. Dhool Ka Phool, Arzoo, Sangam and many more were the addition to his volley of non-stop blockbusters.
People crowned him Jubilee Kumar as his multiple films completed more than 25 weeks at the box office. The actor was becoming one of the richest stars of the industry. But, when his film’s success halted, he shifted to playing supporting roles.
Not many people know, the actor sold his bungalow to a star, who was that time new to the industry. His name was Rajesh Khanna, who believed that after buying his house, he will achieve the same success like Jubilee Kumar. Fortunately, his belief turned out to be true.
