Amitabh Bachchan who has recently been called in sick while working for Thugs Of Hindostan at Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur, has taken the social media by storm. A picture of a turbaned, rugged, old bearded man sporting spectacles was going viral and we were almost convinced that this is Big B’s look in Yash Raj Films’ upcoming period drama Thugs of Hindostan.

Sadly, the twist to this viral post is that the viral picture which was thought of Amitabh Bachchan’s look from Thugs Of Hindostan is actually a portrait shot by the popular lensman Steve McCurry. An Instagram account of Steve McCurry’s portrait shots features the said photograph with the message: “I made this portrait of Shabuz, age 68, an Afghan refugee in Pakistan. Many Afghans use only one name.”

The picture is also copyrighted to Steve McCurry on another website which sells prints of famous photographers.

Thugs Of Hindostan is an upcoming Hindi film which features Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Amitabh Bachchan and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles. Every now and then, the pictures from the sets have been leaked out. In the latest pictures, Katrina Kaif was spotted wearing bridal ensemble with pyjamas to shoot for a face shot.

The film narrates a fictional story dating back to the period of 1790-1805. It is slated to release in November this year.
