Tripura wants to achieve new heights of glory, says PM in Sonamura

Keeping an eye on upcoming polls, PM Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed an election rally in Muslim-dominated bordering town of Sonamura in West Tripura. Later in the day, the prime minister will address rally in Kailashahar in North Tripura.

"Tripura wants to achieve new heights of glory. People here aspire for more and better employment opportunities", the prime minister said while addressing a rally.

12:48 pm: The prime minister will be holding rally at the constituency of BJP vice president Subal Bhowmik – next to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s constituency Dhanpur in Sepahijala district in Sonamura College ground.

12:45 pm: As per reports, around 1 lakh people from three districts – Sepahijala, Gomati and South Tripura - are likely to attend the rally.

12:43 pm: Ahead of rallies, tight security arrangements were made in the poll-bound state. Police say to ensure foolproof security, a team of SPG has already arrived in the state and visited the proposed venues. 

12:42 pm: PM Modi will make his second visit to the state on February 15 to hold a road show.
