NEET official answer key 2024 out: Raise objection if any at neet.nta.nic.in, here's easy steps, fee, and more

NEET official answer key 2024 has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates who appeared in the NEET 2024 exam can download answer keys along with OMR response sheet from the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. Check how to download, and other details.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is now accepting representations against the provisional answer key of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2024. Students who attempted the medical college entrance exam can now raise objections against the answer key till May 31, up to 11:50 pm on the official website - neet.nta.nic.in. The provisional answer keys were released on May 29 late evening.

To challenge the provisional answer key, the candidates will have to pay an amount of Rs. 200 per question. These objections will be reviewed by the authorities and if found valid, then the answer keys will be revised accordingly. Based on the final answer keys, the results will be announced. As per the officials, the results will be announced on June 14 on the official website. Candidates can follow the easy steps given below to download answer keys and raise objections against the provisional answer keys.

This year, the exam was conducted by the National Testing Agency on May 5. More than 24 lakh candidates registered for the NEET UG exam which was conducted at 4,750 different centres in 571 cities. Over 10 lakh students were male and more than 13 lakh were female medical aspirants.

NEET answer key: How to download the answer key?

  • Visit the official website neet.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on the NTA NEET 2024 official answer keys link, available on the home page.
  • Enter the login details and click on submit.
  • The answer key will be displayed on the screen.
  • Check the answer key and download it for future references.

NEET answer key: How to challenge the answer key?

To file any objection, candidates should follow the mentioned steps:-

  • Visit the official website of NTA NEET 2024.
  • Click on Apply to answer key challenges.
  • Select the test booklet code and log in using the application number and date of birth.
  • The questions will be displayed on the screen. 
  • The number next to the question under the column ‘Correct Option’ stands for the most appropriate answer key to be used by the NTA.
  • If the candidates wish to challenge this option, they may use any one or more of the options given in the next four columns by clicking the check box.
  • Upload the supporting documents and select ‘Choose File and upload.
  • After clicking your desired option, for Physics/Chemistry/Botany/Zoology for NEET (UG) - 2024 ‘Save your Claim’ and move to the next screen.
  • A screen displaying the challenges will show up.
  • Click on ‘Save your Claim and Pay Fee Finally’.
  • Select the mode of payment and pay a fee of Rs 200 for each question challenged
  • After successful payment, download/print the Answer Key challenge receipt.

NEET UG Marking Scheme

The candidates can download the answer key and match their answers by calculating the correct and incorrect answers. The test was for a total of 720 marks with questions from subjects like physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics. As per the marking scheme of NEET UG 2024, candidates will get four marks if the answer is correct and one mark will be deducted if the answer is wrong.

NEET UG Passing Marks

Candidates will require at least 50 percent score to pass the exam. For those belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes, a minimum mark of 40 percent will be required. The candidates having benchmark disabilities will require 45 percent in the case of the general category and 40 percent in the case of SC, ST, and OBC. A counselling process will be conducted to allocate 15 percent of the All India Quota (AIQ) seats and 85 percent of state quota seats for admissions into medical courses.
