Mumbai:

Shares of  Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd fell over 8 per cent on Monday, June 7, 2025, as investors turned sellers after a strong rally post a 1:2 stock split last week. The counter had gained over 8 per cent on Friday post-adjustment. The decline comes as the Nifty India Defence index dropped 1.5 per cent, signalling a potential pause in the rally of this sector that had put the sector among the market’s top performers in the last few months.

The defence index has given a solid return of 34.82 per cent in the last six months. This is far more than the Nifty’s 5.49  per cent gain. When compared with other sectors, this is a substantial growth as IT and pharma declined 12.18 per cent and 6.43 per cent, respectively, over the same period.

Among other notable stocks that fell today are Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers, Bharat Electronics (BEL) and Bharat Dynamics, Zen Technologies and Astra Microwave Products. They all declined in the range of 2-3 per cent.

Defence Stocks In Green

However, some stocks have managed to remain in the green territory despite this downward trend. DCX Systems, Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing, BEML, Cyient DLM, and Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) were some of the gainers in the Nifty India Defence index.
