Hyundai unveils new Santro: Here’s how it looks

Hyundai India has also packed the Santro with new age technology features including segment-first 6.5 inch Touch Screen Audio Video System.

Hyundai Motors India Ltd. on Tuesday unveiled the new Santro. The 2018 Santro is scheduled to be launched on October 23 and the price will be released on the day of launch. However, online booking will start from October 10. Sources say the starting price could be around Rs 4 lakh.

The new Santro 2018 will also come with automatic gear shift especially developed by HMIL for the hathback which is likely to replace its popular small car - Eon. The new Santro will also be available with factory-fitted CNG variant. The new model's length and breadth are more than the previous model but its height is slightly lesser than the previous one. The new Hyundai Santro has 1100 cc engine, which gives power of 69 ps and torque of 10.1 kgm.

Hyundai India has packed the Santro with new age technology features including segment-first 6.5 inch Touch Screen Audio Video System. The Multi-media system is equipped with smart phone connectivity - Android auto, Apple Carplay and Mirror Link along with supporting voice recognition function and rear parking camera display on screen. The Santro also sees the introduction of rear AC vents which is a segment first.

Speaking at the unveiling of the All New Santro, Y K Koo, MD & CEO, HMIL said, "Today is a historic and proud moment for us, as India has unanimously chosen the name of their Favourite Family Car to be called The All New Santro. Since its first launch, Santro created history with its numerous segment-first innovations and became the Complete Family Car for millions of Indians."

The new Santro will compete with Maruti Suzuki's WagorR, Celerio, Tata's Tiago and Renault Kwid in the Indian market.
