Karnataka hijab row: In June this year, two Muslim girl students, who protested against the prohibition of hijab at the university college in the city, took no-objection certificates (NOC) from the college.
The hijab crisis, which started as a protest by six students of Udupi Pre-University Girl's College, has turned out to be a major situation in Karnataka over the past year.
Education Minister's remark comes after hundreds of students from Mangaluru's University College staged a protest on May 26 against wearing hijab in classrooms.
