Drinking water supply will remain affected in parts of Delhi from May 6 to May 8 due to an alarming dip in raw water supply through the Yamuna, the Delhi Jal Board said.
Water supply across the national capital was affected from Sunday evening in wake of curtailment of operations at two treatment plants, a Delhi Jal Board statement said.
On Wednesday, high ammonia concentration in the Yamuna and less water in the river had affected the "production" capacity at Chandrawal and Wazirabad water treatment plants -- which supply around 228 MGD drinking water to people in Delhi.
The supply was hit in many localities of east and north-east Delhi over the weekend due to the repair undertaken by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).

Delhi Jal Board vice-chairman Raghav Chadha on Tuesday said the DJB has issued notices to several central government departments, including Railways and Delhi Police, and municipal corporations asking them to clear dues amounting to Rs 6,811 crore within 30 days.

High ammonia levels due to industrial waste being dumped into the Yamuna at Panipat has forced Chandrawal and Wazirabad Water Treatment Plants to stop operations.
The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) on Tuesday said the pumping of water from Wazirabad, Chandrawal and Okhla plants was affected due to high turbidity in raw water from the Yamuna river.
He also said his government would provide 24x7 water supply to every resident of the city by 2024.
The DJB headquarters, however, soon turned into a protest venue as the delegation started raising slogans against the Aam Aadmi Party government alleging the utility, headed by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, had no plans to deal with the "water crisis" in the national capital.
When government utilities like the DJB,are supplying water after cleaning it, there's no need for people to install ROs, an official of the Delhi Jal Board said.
For the newly-identified water pockets in Dwarka, Kejriwal said that it is expected to create an additional 22.5 MLD water for the area.
The green panel said failure of the Chief Secretary as well as DJB to prepare an action plan on the issue was detrimental to environment and also to the rule of law.
The police came to know about the incident at around 7:30 am. They were told that the labourer was brought dead from the Delhi Jal Board Pump House in Jahangirpuri.

"You want Haryana to give you more water for dilution of the pollutants in the river but show us what have you done. Yamuna in your territory has become a sewer line," the bench observed.
