A statement released by the Afghan Embassy in Switzerland read that the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is the only legitimate government of Afghanistan that is elected by the votes of the people and no other government can replace a legitimate one, Khaama News reported.
"I owe the Afghan people an explanation for leaving Kabul abruptly on August 15 after Taliban unexpectedly enter the city," Ex-president Ashraf Ghani said.
Saleh underlined that the Taliban were under pressure in Afghanistan despite the over 20-year presence of international troops in the country as they were receiving help from Pakistan.
The Taliban have extended their amnesty to deposed Afghan President and Vice President Ashraf Ghani and Amrullah Saleh, respectively.

Addressing the world via a Facebook video, Ashraf Ghani defended his action of leaving the country saying he did it in a bid to prevent massive bloodshed.
Ambassador Mohammad Zahir Aghbar told a news conference on Wednesday that Ashraf Ghani, former President of Afghanistan “stole $169 million from the state coffers” and called his flight “a betrayal of the state and the nation.”
According to reports, the former Afghanistan President is now settled in Abu Dhabi.
Earlier, reports claimed that Ghani has fled to neighbouring Tajikistan or Uzbekistan as the Taliban swiftly took control of Afghanistan in just couple of weeks the US forces started to pull out of the country after over 20 years.
