Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has upgraded the speed and data benefits of one of its broadband plans. The Rs 599 broadband plan is a budget plan from the state-run telecom company. With the new upgraded benefits, the plan has now become more attractive for subscribers. Here are all the details you need to know.

BSNL Rs 599 broadband plan

BSNL launched the Rs 599 broadband plan in 2020. When launched, the plan offered 60Mbps download and upload speed along with 3.3TB of monthly data. Post consumption of the allocated data, the speed was reduced to 2Mbps.

BSNL's Rs 599 Fibre Basic Plus plan has been on offer for customers since 2020. Let's start with the old benefits of the plan, and then move ahead to the new benefits.

The plan has now been upgraded to offer 100Mbps of speed and 4TB of monthly data. After the consumption of the allocated data, users will now be able to browse the internet at a reduced speed of 4Mbps.

It is worth noting that there is another Rs 599 plan offered by BSNL, which is called the Fiber Basic OTT plan. It offers 75Mbps of speed and 4TB of monthly data. The plan gives a free subscription to Disney+ Hotstar Super to users.

Meanwhile, BSNL is all set to launch its 'Made in India' 4G service in August of this year. According to company sources, the 4G service has recently been tested and is claimed to offer internet data access at a maximum speed of 40 to 45 Mbps. The testing was conducted on the 700 MHz and 2100 MHz spectrum bands. Additionally, BSNL has partnered with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Telecom Research Organization C-Dot to launch the 4G service, which is built on indigenous technology, in Punjab. The pilot project of BSNL has already attracted 8 lakh new users to its 4G network.
