MIUI 10 new beta update brings dark mode to system apps

Xiaomi had introduced the MIUI 10.2.1.0 just a few months back but has now released a new MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM 9.2.14 update. The company has introduced the dark mode for its system apps that include Contacts, Phone, Gallery, Messaging,  Calculator, Notes, Screen Recorder and Updater. It also brings the new dark mode update to the notification shade, volume slider menu, and apps menus. With the upcoming Android Q tipped to come with a dark mode, Xiaomi has already seemed to have taken a similar approach.

Reports from FoneArena that first spotted the dark mode, suggest that Xiaomi has added a dark mode in the system apps of MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM 9.2.14. The dark mode has battery benefits and is easy on eyes.

Other than the stock apps, Xiaomi has offered a dark theme option in some parts of the settings like Manage Apps, Mi Account, Space, Dual Apps, Permissions, App Lock, Enterprise Mode, App Lock, Quick Ball and the SIM card settings.

Xiaomi hasn't really hinted as to when the company will actually roll out the system-wide dark theme for all but the MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM V9.2.14 will be rolled out from 15th February for eligible users and will not be available for old devices. Xiaomi has already started working on MIUI 11OS that could possibly come with a complete system-wide dark mode.
