Sonepat, Apr 13:  Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh from Pool A and hosts Haryana and Delhi from Pool B entered semifinals of the Hockey India Sub-Junior Men's National Championship (North Zone) played here Saturday.




Hosts Haryana registered an easy 13-0 victory over Jammu and Kashmir while Punjab beat Himachal Pradesh 3-0 in Pool B.

In Pool A, Chandigarh defeated Uttarakhand 5-3.

Pool A: Chandigarh 5 (Manjinder Singh 11, Hartaj Singh Aujla 18, Harkirat Singh 21, Harmeet Singh 45 and Milanpreet Singh 47) beat Uttarakhand 3 (Vikas Joshi 16, Raj Kumar 32 and Rahul Kumar 38).

Pool B: Punjab 3 (Kawaljit Singh 2, Ajmer Singh 26 and Dharminder Singh 69) beat Himachal Pradesh 0.

Haryana 13 (Amit 6, 50, 70, Viney 12, 20, 52, 56, Amit 22, Kuldeep 24, 33, Akshay Antil 29, 58 and Mohit 45) beat Jammu and Kashmir 0.

Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh entered the semifinals from Pool B of the Hockey India Sub-Junior Women's National Championship (North Zone) played here Saturday.

Uttar Pradesh defeated Himachal Pradesh 6-0. Uttar Pradesh, who led 4-0 at half time, scored through Mohini Nishad (2nd, 22nd minutes), Sonal Tiwari (7th) and Nilamjati (12th). In the second half, Uttar Pradesh scored another two goals through Ananaya Verma (46th) and Khushboo Kumari (59th).

In another game, Punjab beat Chandigarh 5-1.

Haryana will now face Uttar Pradesh in the first semifinal while Chandigarh will take on Delhi in the second semifinal to be played Sunday.

Pool B: Uttar Pradesh 6 (Mohini Nishad (2, 22), Sonal Tiwari (7), Nilamjati Ram (12), Ananaya Verma (46) and Khushboo Kumari (59) beat Himachal Pradesh 0.

Punjab 5 (Saroj (4, 59), Shilpi Dabas (53, 67) and Sarabdeep Kaur (56) beat Chandigarh 1 (Navneet Kaur 23).
