Canberra, Australia: West Indies skipper Jason Holder won the toss and elected to bat first Tuesday in the World Cup Pool B match against Zimbabwe.

The West Indies are coming off a lopsided win over Pakistan in New Zealand on the weekend, rebounding from a surprising opening loss to second-tier Ireland.

Batting first gives West Indies opener Chris Gayle an early chance to shrug off criticism of his World Cup form. Darren Bravo was ruled out due to a hamstring injury and replaced by Jonathan Carter, while Nikita Miller was preferred to Sulieman Benn.

Zimbabwe lost its opening match to South Africa but recovered to beat United Arab Emirates by four wickets. In a change to the starting lineup, Stuart Matsikenyeri replaced Solomon Mire.

Lineups:

West Indies: Jason Holder (captain), Chris Gayle, Dwayne Smith, Marlon Samuels, Jonathan Carter, Denesh Ramdin, Lendl Simmons, Darren Sammy, Andre Russell, Jerome Taylor, Nikita Miller.

Zimbabwe: Elton Chigumbura (captain), Sikandar Raza, Regi Chakabva, Hamilton Masakadza, Brendan Taylor, Sean Williams, Craig Ervine, Stuart Matsikenyeri, Tinashe Panyangara, Tendai Chatara, Tafadzwa Kamungozi.

Umpires: Ian Gould, England, and Steve Davis, Australia.

Third umpire: Ranmore Martinesz, Sri Lanka. Match Referee: Roshan Mahanama, Sri Lanka.
