Mirpur: Half centuries by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made the task further easier as india achieved the meager target of 130 with ease, beating West Indies by7 wickets here in the super ten stage of World T20.



While chasing India lost Shikhar Dhawan in the very first of Badri who trapped him leg before. He could not open his score.

After early jolt, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli put on 106 runs for the 1st wicket. Virat was more aggressive of the two and completed his half century taking just 34 balls.

Virat was all set to carry the bat but Russel bowled him with a beauty. He scored 54 with 5X4 and a solitary six.

When only one run was needed for a win in the last Yuvraj gave away his wicket with three balls remaining. He made 10 runs. Raina came and smashed a four to register a win.

Rohit and Yuvraj Singh remained not out on….62 and respectively

Earlier, Amit Mishra picked up where he left in the previous match to pick up yet another two wickets, giving away just 18 runs in his four overs to restrict West Indies to 129/7 here today.

After winning the toss, skipper Dhoni put West Indies in to bat and it once again paid off. First Kumar and than spinners frustrated West Indians bowlers so much that Dwayne Smith took 29 balls for his meager 11 runs. He was caught and bowled by Ashwin.

Gayle did try to open up and hit two sixes but he was run out. He scored 34 off 33.

When Gayle departed the score was 62 after 13 overs. After this defending champion kept losing wickets and only Simmons cracked two sixes in the last over to help West Indies reach 129.

For india Amit Mishra once again Picked up two wickets. He first had Samuels stumped and than in the next ball trapped Bravo.

After a seven wicket victory against Pakistan on Friday, Team India is now ready to face another big challenge by West Indies in their second Super 10 match of Group 1 here todayon Sunday. India would be looking to continue the performance as the tournament progresses.


The word of mouth game already started between the opponents when Raina in a press conference said that Windies batsmen lacks in changing strike against the spinners and this can be exploited by Indian spinners.

In reply, West Indies captain Darren Sammy challenged to stop them from hitting the ball over the boundary and said that they can be destructive.

Indian captain M. S. Dhoni however declined to play with the same formation of three spinners and two pacers that worked against Pakistan rather it would depend on the playing conditions.

It would be interesting to see how the game would go with key players present in both teams.
