Ahmedabad: Mumbai Indian, defending champion, won the toss and chose to bat first against Rajasthan Royal here Monday.
Their hopes of making the playoffs all but over, defending champions Mumbai Indians would look to upset the equations for Rajasthan Royals, who would be aiming to strengthen their position in top-four when the two sides face off in an IPL match here today.
Lying second from bottom in the points, Mumbai have won just three of their 10 matches and have hardly looked or played like the defending champions.
Rajasthan, on the other hand, are sitting pretty on third in the table after notching up seven wins in their 11 matches.
Rajasthan Royals are currently placed third in the Indian Premier League points table. A win against Mumbai Indians would cement their spot but a loss may hurt their playoff prospects. Mumbai Indians lead head-to-heads 7-5 against Rajasthan.
