Sydney, Feb 17: Australia selectors have called up spinner Jon Holland into the one-day squad for the tri-series match against Sri Lanka on Friday as cover for the injured Xavier Doherty.
Doherty felt back spasms during Thursday's training session at the Sydney Cricket Ground and will be assessed by medical staff prior to the match to determine if he is fit to play.
Australia coach Mickey Arthur said Doherty's injury is not serious but "it is important we have capable cover in Sydney for tomorrow's match."
Arthur adds "Jon has been bowling well for Victoria across all formats in recent weeks, and we feel should he be required he will perform with distinction."
