Ranchi, Dec 9: Team India Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni today revealed a piece of his own mantra saying only those who work hard could lay hands on trophies and medals.

“There is no short cut to success,” Dhoni said as he graced the “Cash Award Ceremony” to give away government announced cheques to National Games medal winners from Jharkhand at a function here.

“Don't sit back quietly (after winning medals) as your win has put more responsibility (on your shoulder)... so work hard to achieve more glory,” said Dhoni while congratulating medal winners of the February National Games once again.

Dhoni, who is bracing up to confront Australia in the summer cricket Test series there, hinted his obsession with keeping promises.

“I had told you that I would come to the games village during the national games; and I kept my word. Today also I fulfilled the promise (to attend the ceremony),” Dhoni said at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium where Chief Minister Arjun Munda, his cabinet members and other dignitaries were present.

Dhoni urged the government to use the games village which hosted the national games as a practice arena for different sports persons.

“I would like to request the government to use the sports infrastructure for practice of players,” he said.

In his speech, the chief minister Arjun Munda said he had already asked the Sports department to use for that purpose.
