Mumbai, May 28: India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was bombarded with a volley of questions on spot fixing in the India Premier League (IPL) but he evaded them all with a smile here Tuesday.

Dhoni, who leads Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, was asked three to four questions about the scandal but didn't answer them during the press conference before leaving for the Champions Trophy in England.

Super Kings chief executive Gurunath Meiyappan, who is also the son-in-law of board president N. Srinivasan, has been arrested by Mumbai police for his links in the spot fixing scandal.

Gurunath's name was revealed after police arrested Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh Randhawa for spot fixing. Vindoo was often pictured with Dhoni's wife Sakshi, cheering for Super Kings during the IPL matches.

During the press conference, Dhoni was also asked if he personally knew Vindoo, but he answered with a smile as a board official seated next to the India captain said "next question please."

Dhoni was also asked why was he keeping mum and skipped two pre-match press conferences during the IPL and also if the spot fixing scandal will have any affect on the players in the Champions Trophy, but he chose to ignore them all. He also refused to answer when asked if fans can have faith in the Indian team in the Champions Trophy in the midst of the scandal.

Dhoni has been always known for speaking out his mind but he decided to evade questions since the scandal is under police investigations.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be setting up a commission to probe Gurunath's role in spot-fixing

The spot fixing scandal came to light with the arrest of three Rajasthan Royals cricketers - Ankeet Chavan, Ajit Chandila and former India pacer Sreesanth.
