"We want to help bring a stable government which can take decisions in the national interest", said Gen Singh.
Addressing the ex-servicemen, BJP president Rajnath Singh said, the defence services commands the highest respect from among the countrymen.
"Our soldiers and officers are valiant. I also wanted to join the armed forces and gave the exam, but my family restrained me from the joined the forces".
"It is not true that soldiers and officers do not lay their lives only during wartime. They live with their life on the sword. We face challenges of terrorism and Naxalism.
"The amount of attention that should have been given to the armed forces is not being given. Sometimes I have a feeling of guilty consciousness.
