Delhi is set to vote in the Assembly elections on Wednesday, with the Aam Aadmi Party aiming for a third consecutive term, while the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress seek to regain their footing in the capital. Over 1.56 crore voters will exercise their franchise from 7 am on Wednesday.

Voting will be held at 13,766 polling stations in all 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi, in which the electoral fate of 699 candidates will be decided. This contest can give a new shape to the political landscape of the national capital. Polling personnel have also completed preparations at their respective booths and it is expected that the voting process will be completed peacefully on Wednesday.

Voting in Delhi will begin at 7 am on Wednesday and continue until 6 pm, with strict security measures in place. The Election Commission has deployed 220 companies of paramilitary forces, 35,626 Delhi Police officers, and 19,000 home guards to ensure a smooth and secure voting process. The Election Commission has marked about 3,000 polling stations as sensitive and has made special security arrangements including drone surveillance at some of these places. According to the Delhi Police, additional police forces will be deployed at sensitive polling stations. The police said that Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) will also be deployed to maintain law and order.

Special provisions have been made for senior citizens and persons with disabilities and 733 polling stations have been specially designed keeping in mind their needs.
