Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma was conferred with prestigious Smita Patil Award on Wednesday. The Sui Dhaaga actress was wearing an emerald green handloom saree for the event.
She was felicitated at 34th Priyadarshini Global Academy Awards and was conferred with Smita Patil Award. Earlier, actresses Juhi Chawla and Katrina Kaif were also honored with the prestigious award.
Anushka Sharma was presented with the award by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
For Anushka, the award was even special as she completed 10 years in the industry. She debuted in Bollywood with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
Talking about veteran actress Smita Patil, she said, "I really appreciate and admire her and needless to say it's a great honour to receive the Smita Patil Award by the Priyadarshani Academy."
Anushka Sharma wore an emerald green Benarsi saree for the event. She kept her makeup minimal and tied her hair into a neat bun.
The saree she was wearing, is made by local artisans. It seems like Anushka Sharma has really gotten into the skin of the character she's playing in Sui Dhaaga.
Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan's Sui Dhaaga is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 28.
