1.) Maruti Suzuki: Brezza When India’s most popular automaker enters the country’s fastest growing segment, the result is a customer’s delight. Powered by a 1.3-litre diesel mill, the car is available in six variants and a plethora of dual-tone designs. Within a month or so of its launch, the car has already outsold its fiercest rivals.
2.) Renault Duster: The Duster was a game changer for Renault as it found its feet in India a few years back. After a minor phase of anonymity, the SUV came back strong with in a facelifted (and AWD) avatar recently. It is available in three engine options, going up till 2000cc worth of displacement.

4.) Honda BR-V: The Honda BR-V is the newest kid on the block. The crossover SUV has got the highest ground-clearance in its segment, according to the Japanese manufacturer. Launched earlier this month, the BR-V offers both 1.5-litre diesel and petrol choices.
5.) Mahindra XUV500: The first monocoque chassis-based car by Mahindra, the XUV500 has garnered plenty of attention in the Indian markets with its Cheetah-inspired design. Launched first in 2010, the mid-sized SUV currently comes equipped with a 2.2-litre engine, similar to the one on the Scorpio.
6.) Ford Endeavour: The Endeavour is popular among the country’s SUV-lovers for its feature-loaded, plush nature that helps it stand out against competition. Another USP is the wide range of powertrain options that stretches up to the brawny 3.2-litre pot.
7.) Mercedes-Benz GLA: Flaunting an attractive design, the GLA is a proven head-turner. As for performance, petrolheads would give anything to sit behind the wheel of the 45 AMG avatar of the GLA that churns out an incredible 360PS of power.
8.) BMW X1: The compact crossover is the most affordable beamer on offer in this segment. Into its second generation, the X1 is available in both rear-wheel-drive (sDrive) and all-wheel-drive (xDrive) configurations with 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre engines to choose from.
9.) Range Rover Evoque: The compact luxury crossover is one of the most coveted SUVs in the country. Lauded for retaining the features, amenities and off-road capabilities of a traditional Range Rover in a smaller package, the Evoque is propelled by a 2.2-litre powerplant.
