4.) Honda BR-V: The Honda BR-V is the newest kid on the block. The crossover SUV has got the highest ground-clearance in its segment, according to the Japanese manufacturer. Launched earlier this month, the BR-V offers both 1.5-litre diesel and petrol choices.

5.) Mahindra XUV500: The first monocoque chassis-based car by Mahindra, the XUV500 has garnered plenty of attention in the Indian markets with its Cheetah-inspired design. Launched first in 2010, the mid-sized SUV currently comes equipped with a 2.2-litre engine, similar to the one on the Scorpio.
