Ankara, Sept 20: A powerful explosion killed two people and left up to ten injured in the Turkish capital Ankara on Tuesday morning.

 
At least two killed in centre of Ankara by explosion that police suspect was caused by bomb.

Ankara:  A powerful explosion killed two people and left several injured in the Turkish capital Ankara on Tuesday, NTV television reported.
 
The blast blew out windows of shops and offices in the surrounding area and sparked a fire which was later put out by firefighters at the scene, NTV said, adding that the cause of the explosion was not yet known.



The explosion happened in front of the Cankaya local administrator's office close to Ankara's downtown Kizilay square, the Anatolia news agency said.
 
Police feared a second explosion and sealed off the area, it said.
 
Turkish television broadcasters are showing several vehicles on fire in the city following the explosion.

CNN-Turk television, citing unnamed interior ministry officials, say the blast occurred on a minibus in the downtown Kizilay district on Tuesday. NTV television says at least 10 people have been injured.

Some reports are quoting police officers claiming the blast came from a bomb, possibly inside a vehicle.
