How life of Peshawar school attack mastermind œRadio Mullah changed after marriage

New Delhi: December 16, 2014 will always be remembered as one of the blackest days in the human history. The world witnessed the barbaric face of terrorism in Pakistan, where innocent children were gunned gown by terrorists. As many as, 132 innocent children were killed by a group of terrorists belonging to Tehreek-i- Taliban (Pakistan) in the Peshawar Army school.This group has been trying to topple the government in Pakistan and is fighting against the army for a long time.The organization is headed by Mullah Fazlullah who is also known as ‘Radio Mullah'. Fazlullah was the leader of the Pakistani Taliban in Swat Valley as well.Let's have a look at Pakistan's most wanted terrorist's life and journey:Maulana Fazlullah, popularlyknown as ‘Radio Mullah', was born Fazal Hayat to Biladar Khan, a Pashtun of Babukarkhel clan of the Yusufzai tribe of the Swat District in 1974.It is said that Fazlullah's life changed after he married the daughter of Sufi Muhammad, the founder of Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi.It was after his marriage that Fazlullah started propagating his extereme views on an FM channel that came to be known as ‘Radio Mullah' later on. Maulana Fazlullah at first taught the holy Quran to children at his Mam Dheri mosque. His sermonizing tone changed from sermons to threats after he opened his unauthorized FM radio channel in 2004.People started supporting him with men and material as he earned the nickname "Maulana Radio." He soon got a long pool of supporters among the traditionalist Pashtuns of the area, as well as previous supporters of the jailed Muhammad and Pakistanis working abroad.He was against polio vaccinations, which he had termed as “a conspiracy of the Jews and Christians to stunt the population growth of Muslims.”Peshawar school attack was a reply to a recent military crackdown on Taliban by Pakistan Army in North Waziristan . The attacks were aimed at reasserting the Taliban's presence and capacity to cause chaos. Fazlullah's hatred for schools are well known because he wants to destroy every option for women to get education.Since 2009, militants have targeted more than 1,000 schools — a time frame that closely traces the rise of Fazlullah.This isn't Fazlullah's first assault on schools. In 2012, he claimed responsibility for an elimination attempt onNobel Prize Peace winner Malala Yousafzai, who wrote a widely read anonymous blog describing the awfulness of life under the Taliban.According to media reports Fazlullah burned television sets, video equipment, computers, and digital cameras worth 20 million rupees because according to him "these are the main sources of sin." He added: "Now we have no other option but to re-organize our movement and work for a society purged of all types of evils including music, dancing and drinking alcohol."In September 2007, Fazlullah's supporters also tried to destroy the centuries-old statues of Buddha and prehistoric rock carvings in the Swat Valley on the grounds that they were un-Islamic. Since 2009, the 39-year-old Fazlullah has been hiding in the Afghan provinces of Kunar and Nuristan and orchestrating attacks in Pakistan from across the border. Fazlullah has been reported killed numerous times by media, but every time he personally called media houses to deny reports of his own death. 'Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan' (TTP) is Pakistan's main Islamist rebel group.It is an alliance of jihadist militants that has killed thousands of Pakistanis since its inception in 2007. Its first chief was the brutal Baitullah Mehsud. In the aftermath of the 2007 siege of Lal Masjid, Fazlullah's forces and Baitullah Mehsud's Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) joined hands. In late 2013, Mullah Fazlullah took over as the TTP chief after CIA killed his predecessor, Hakimullah Mehsud, in a drone strike.
