Karachi, Sep 17 :Pakistani Maritime Security Agency on Sunday arrested 11 Indian fishermen and handed them over to the port police here.

The Indian fishermen were in two boats, and MSA officials alleged, they were fishing inside Pakistani territorial waters.

Pakistan on  Sept 10  released 48 Indian fishermen, lodged in its jails.  The release, described as a "goodwill gesture", came a day aftr External Affairs Minister S M Krishna's Pakistan visit ended.

Earlier on August 15, Pakistan had freed 55 Indian fishermen as a "goodwill gesture" on the occasion of Independence Day.

India shares an expansive oceanic border with Pakistan without any perceptible demarcation and fishermen on both sides ignore rules while netting their catch.

Fishermen from both the countries frequently stray into each other territory and end up spending years in their jails.
