This bomber carries the most payload of any American bomber (64,000 pounds), and was fast (Mach 1.25). Probably the most under-appreciated bomber in American service. Often goes on missions only using its three internal bays, yet it still hauls more bombs than a B-52.

The Tu-160 carries cruise and land attack missiles, fitted with conventional or nuclear warheads. This bomber can also carry free-fall bombs with a maximum weight of up to 40 t in place of the missiles. It has a range of 14 500 km.It was developed during the Cold War.

The flying-wing concept was brought into the world of advanced stealth technology by Northrop with the B-2 Bomber. Coated with special composite laminate and secret paint, the B-2 is almost invisible to radar and more B-2s have been identified as UFOs than any other aircraft. Based in the U.S., B-2s on refueling missions can hit any part of the world.
