The number of COVID-19 cases rises to 864 in Himachal Pradesh. 

Bihar Disaster Management Minister Lakshmeshwar Roy said that 93 people have lost their lives due to thunderstorms and lightning in Bihar. He also said, "We appeal to people to stay at home."

President Trump promised to punish the CCP officials responsible for eviscerating Hong Kong’s freedoms. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, "Today, we're taking action to do just that-we've announced visa restrictions on CCP officials responsible for undermining Hong Kong’s autonomy and human rights." 

Mumbai reported 1,297 new COVID-19 cases and 44 deaths today, taking the total number of cases to 72,287 and death toll to 4,177. 

IAS Manoj Dwivedi has been appointed as Chief Secretary of General Administration Departement in addition to his current charge of Industries and Commerce. He will also hold additional charge of Director General of Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development.

29 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Jharkhand today, taking the total number of cases to 2,294 including 1,647 recoveries and 12 deaths. 

Maharashtra registered 5,024 new coronavirus cases -- highest in one day so far -- on Friday, taking the tally of cases in the state to 1,52,765, while the
number of fatalities reached 7,106 with 175 new deaths.

The number of coronavirus cases in Gujarat crossed the 30,000-mark on Friday, with 580 more people testing positive in the last 24 hours, the state health department said.

Thirteen more coronavirus-related deaths were reported from Haryana on Friday as the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 12,884 with 421 fresh infections, a health bulletin said.

Kerala's COVID-19 tally is inching towards the 4,000 mark as the state continued to see a sharp spike for the eighth consecutive days with 150 people, including six CISF personnel and a health worker being infected on Friday.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the infection count in the state has reached 3876.

Twelve more people 11 defence personnel and one policeman tested positive for COVID-19 in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Friday, taking the
total number of coronavirus cases in the union territory to 72, a senior official said.

Two more persons succumbed to coronavirus in Punjab on Friday, taking the death toll to 122, while 188 fresh cases pushed the infection tally in the state to 4,957.

Nepal on Friday recorded a new coronavirus death and 593 new cases, even as reports of 21 COVID-19 patients escaping a quarantine centre in Karnali province put authorities on high alert.

Eleven more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Himachal Pradesh taking the state's total tally of cases to 851 on Friday, the Health Department said.

 The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Chandigarh stands at 424; the death toll is at 6.

Two more persons, including a three-year-old girl, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram in the last 24 hours, taking the state's tally to 147, government sources said.

Uttar Pradesh on Friday reported 19 coronavirus fatalities and 750 infections, as the state's virus count neared 21,000 while the death toll rose to 630, a senior official said.

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha crossed the 6,000 mark with 218 fresh cases in last 24 hours, said the health department on Friday. The total confirmed cases in the state now stand at 6180. Out of the fresh cases, 198 cases were reported from various quarantine centres and 20 cases are local contacts.

Andhra Pradesh reported its highest ever single-day tally on Friday, with 605 COVID-19 cases reported over the past 24 hours. The tally includes returnees from other states and overseas. The state nodal officer reported that the overall tally of corona cases touched 11,489 during the 24 hours ending 9 a.m., Friday.

COVID-19 recovery rate in Delhi has surged past 60 per cent as per the latest figures issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). Delhi has seen a total of 73,780 COVID-19 cases thus far, out of these 44,765 people have recovered after contracting the virus. This takes the recovery rate in the national capital to 60.6 per cent.
