New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said her party will contest the December Assembly polls based on the achievements of her government and the growth witnessed in the city in the 15 years she has been in power.

“Our government has given top priority to the residents of unauthorised colonies and to the poor and under-privileged sections. Our party and government have been working with sensitivity and providing relief to people from time to time,” she said while releasing a booklet, ‘Bees Saal Sau Kamal', highlighting the achievements of four-time MLA Mukesh Sharma in his Uttam Nagar constituency.

“The government has provided a substantial subsidy on consumption of electricity of up to 400 units per month. The government is committed to providing foodgrains at highly subsidised rates to 73 lakh persons under the Food Security Programme,” she said.

Lavishing praises on Sharma, Dikshit said the development in his constituency was exemplary.

She said that Sharma had always remained in touch with his electorates and had striven to overcome difficulties coming in the way of developmental projects in his Assembly segment.  Speaking on the occasion, Sharma thanked Dikshit for granting funds for development “All Uttam Nagar localities are well-connected via Metro Rail services while the Uttam Nagar Terminal provides bus services to every nook and corner of the city,” he said.  Sharma also talked about the monorail project between Bindarpur and Mohan Garden.

“Uttam Nagar is going to be the only Assembly segment in the capital where most colonies would be served by Delhi Metro and the Monorail. The constituency would also be benefited with the extension of the Metro line up to Najafgarh,” Sharma said.

He added that two major hospitals were also under construction in his constituency.
