Rudraprayag: Fresh rains lashed Kedarnath for three hours on Monday hampering the local administration's efforts to resume pooja at the holy shrine from Wednesday (Sept 11).

There has been no pooja of Lord Kedarnath for the last three months, when flash flood devastated the holy town killing more than a thousand pilgrims in its wake.

With temperature falling below normal due to rains, preparations for pooja are hitting a roadblock.

Rains on the Dehradun-Rudraprayag has hampered movement of local officials scurrying around to hit the deadline.

All that the local administration has done is to move part of the rubble to create a path leading to the holy shrine. The potholes remain as they were.

The same is the condition of Rudraprayag-Guptkashi road. The pedestrian route from Sonprayag to Kedarnath has not yet been restored.
